DHAKA, Sep 6, 2020 (BSS)- The website of the 29th New York Bangla Book Fair, dedicated to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of his birth centenary, will be inaugurated tomorrow.
State Minister for Culture KM Khalid will inaugurate the website via virtual platform at 9am in Bangladeshi time (September 6, 11 pm in New York), said a press release issued by the Muktadhara Foundation here today.
The event will be broadcast live on the book fair’s Facebook page at-http://www.facebook.com/newyorkboimela.
The book fair is starting from September 16 and will continue till September 27, said New York Bangla Book Fair 2020 convener Dr Ziauddin Ahmed.
Besides the program, people from all over the world will be able to buy their favorite books at home, he said, adding that new horizons of Bengali language and Bengali publications are being opened through this book fair, said the release.
Muktadhara Foundation has ensured the representation of Bengali writers of the world including Bangladesh and West Bengal in this book fair, organized virtually due to the pandemic situation, added the release.
The title sponsor of the 29th New York Bangla Book Fair is IFIC Bank Limited of Bangladesh.
Fiction writer Ferdous Sajedin, chairman of the Muktadhara Foundation, has invited everyone to join the book fair.
