BFSA condemns attack on Ghoraghat UNO, demands trial
DHAKA, Sept 5, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Foreign Service Association (BFSA) today condemned the “heinous” attack on Dinajpur’s Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wahida Khanam and demanded to bring the perpetrators under trial.
“Such a barbaric and brutal attack on an UNO engaged in government’s important duties is extremely tragic and unwanted. The BFSA strongly condemns and protests this heinous incident,” the BFSA, an organization of BCS foreign cadres, said in statement.
The organization also prayed for early recovery of Wahida Khanam, a 31st batch officer of BCS (Administration) cadre, it added.
The BFSA demanded proper investigation into the incident and justice by bringing the attackers under trial so that such incident doesn’t repeat in the future.
Ghoraghat UNO Wahida Khanam and her father came under attack by some unidentified miscreants at her official residence at Ghoraghat early Thursday.
Wahida is now undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital (NINH) in the city.
According to the doctors, her condition has improved.
Besides, three people have been arrested in this connection.
