Inter District Poomsae Taekwondo competition concludes

DHAKA, Sept. 5, 2020 (BSS)- Bangladesh Army clinched title of both the men’s and women’s senior division events as the three-day Inter District Poomsae Taekwondo competition concluded today (Saturday) at national sports council gymnasium.

In the men’s senior division, Army secured nine medals including four gold and five silver while in the women’s senior division Army bagged five medals including three gold and two silver.

Border Guard Bangladesh and Bangladesh Ansar and VPD finished runners-up in the men’s and women’s senior division events respectively.

Besides, Cumilla District Sports Association (DSA) emerged champions in the junior men’s and women’s joint division with eleven medals including six gold, one silver and four bronze while Sirajganj DSA finished runners-up with six medals including four gold and two bronze medals.

Walton Hightect Industries Limited executive director (games and sports) FM Iqbal Bin Anwar was the chief guest in the closing ceremony and distributed the prizes.

The competition was held in twelve categories with the participants are fighting for thirty six gold and silver, and equal number of bronze medals.

A total of six clubs along with Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Ansar and Border Guard Bangladesh and two hundred poomsae participants from fourteen districts across the country took part in the meet, by the supervision of Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation.
