PM sends gifts to ailing AL leader Afzal Khan
Cumilla, Sep 5, 2020, (BSS) – Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has sent gifts to veteran politician Principal Afzal Khan, who is currently undergoing treatment at the United Hospital in Dhaka.
Various kinds of fruits in a basket labeled ‘Greetings from the Hon’ble Prime Minister’ were brought to the hospital from the Prime Minister’s Office on Friday night.
PM Sheikh Hasina also exchanged greetings with the children of Principal Afzal Khan, inquired about his physical condition and wished him a speedy recovery.
Afzal Khan’s daughter Anjum Sultana Sima, a Member of Parliament for the reserved seat, told BSS today that Principal Afzal Khan fell ill on Tuesday night.
He has been suffering from several problems, including diabetes and blood pressure, and for that his breathing difficulty increased.
He was taken to Comilla CDpath hospital, and was later taken to United Hospital in Dhaka.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, AL leader Amir Hossain Amu and Tofail Ahmed also prayed for his father’s recovery, she said.
