JS body meet on fisheries and livestock held

DHAKA, Sept 3, 2020 (BSS) – Parliamentary Standing Committee on
Fisheries and Livestock Ministry today held its 11th meeting at the
Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban here today.

Presided over by committee chairman Dhirendra Debnath Shambhu, the
meeting was attended by committee members Fisheries and Livestock
Minister S M Rezaul Karim, Md. Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Choto Monir, Nazma
Akther and Kaniz Fatema Ahmed, said an official press release.

The committee recommended scrutinizing, changing and polishing
‘Marine Fisheries Bill, 2020’, and ‘Fish and Fish Products (Inspection
and Quality Control) Bill, 2020’ to place those before the parliament.

It suggested sending permanent officials and employees of the
ministry abroad for receiving training instead of appointing officials
temporarily.

The parliamentary watchdog recommended the ministry giving highest
priority on the premier adopted zero tolerance policy against
corruption.

Fisheries and livestock secretary, chiefs of different offices
under the ministry and concerned officials of JS secretariat were
present.
