KCC mayor distributes foodstuffs to mark ‘Mujib Year’

KHULNA, Sept 2, 2020 (BSS) – Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque today distributed foodstuffs among 100 destitute, helpless and extremely poor people to mark the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and to mitigate their sufferings rendered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The mayor distributed the foodstuffs including seven kilograms (kg) of rice, three kg of potatoes, one kg of pulses, one liter of oil, one kg of salt, 10 eggs and a mask of each person to the city’s 20 and 21 no word as the chief guest at Khulna District Livestock Department, who are initiated the programme, premises by strictly following health safety guidelines and rules set by the government.

“The common people of the country must get food during the coronavirus outbreak,” the city mayor said while distributing the food items.

“Everyone should follow the government’s instructions to get rid of coronavirus,” Khaleque said, adding that the government is continuing to distribute relief items among the helpless, destitute and extremely poor people.

He said all people irrespective of political affiliation must follow the ideals of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as he liberated the country for all.

Chaired by District Livestock Officer S M Awal Haque, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Dilip Kumar Ghosh, Md. Safiqur Rahman Palash of Khulna City Juba League, among others, were present on the occasion.

Additional District Livestock Officer Dr. Arun Kanti Mandal conducted the programme.
