82 tested positive for COVID-19 in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 2, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 82 people were detected positive for coronavirus today after testing 874 samples at six COVID-19 laboratories in the district.

Among the newly detected patients, 63 are from Chattogram city and 19 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.

The total number of infected patients now stands at 17,193 in Chattogram district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS today.

Among the total coronavirus infected persons, 12,251 are the residents of the port city and the rest 4,948 are the inhabitants of different upazilas of the district.

The total number of recovered patients from coronavirus rose to 4,622 with the healing of 40 more people in the past 24 hours.

“The healed patients were discharged from different home isolations and Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district as two consecutive real-time PCR tests were found negative,” he said.

“Among the total 17,193 coronavirus infected persons, 4,812 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals in the port city as 4,622 have recovered and 275 died while the rest 7,635 are undergoing treatment in isolation at their respective homes in the city and district,” Dr Rabbi added.
