Police arrest 17 overMunna murder
DHAKA, Sept 1,2020 (BSS) – Police today arrested 17 people on charges of killing 19-year-old Munna, who was beaten to death by some miscreants in city’s Wari area on Sunday.
“Several police teams of Wari police station have arrested these alleged criminals after carrying out separate drives in the city”, Shah Iftekhar Ahmed, deputy commissioner of Wari division under Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said while addressing a press briefing here this afternoon.
“Police have identified the accused after closely monitoring footage of close circuit camera”, he said.
The 19-year old Munna along with his friend Shahin were severely beaten by some miscreants adjacent to Radha Govinda Jew Mondir located in Chandra Mohan Basak Street area under Wari police station in the city on Sunday.
The injured in critical state were rushed to Dhaka Medical Hospital and the duty doctor declared Munna dead afterwards.
Shahin is now undergoing treatment at DMCH, police said.
Munna’s father filed a case with Wari police station on Monday against 17 people.
