DUCS organizes letter writing competition remembering Bangabandhu

DHAKA, Sep 1, 2020 (BSS) – Like previous years, Dhaka University Cultural Society (DUCS) organized a countrywide symbolic letter writing competition to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

In the competition, more than four hundred people expressed their feelings to Bangabandhu through writing letters titled ‘Priyo Bangabandhu’ or ‘Dear Bangabandhu,said a press release.

Among them Tasnim Hossain Maisha, Sabiha Zahin Bushra, Ronit Adhikari, Nayla Rezwana Pratasha and Farah Binte Ahsan were awarded in ‘A’ category while five others were awarded in ‘B’ category.

The award giving ceremony was held on Monday through a webinar using virtual platform.

Eminent Fiction writer Selina Hossain addressed the programme as chief guest while journalist Harun Habib and DUCS President Hillol Shekhar Samadder were present as special guest with moderator of the organization and associate professor of DU Sabrina Sultana Chowdhury in the chair.

This year, the event titled ‘Letter writing to Bangabandhu’ was fully online based due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, said a release.
