Bangabandhu’s birth centenary committee condoles death of Pranab Mukherjee
DHAKA, Sept 1, 2020 (BSS) – Chairman of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu’s Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee National Professor Rafiqul Islam and Chief Coordinator Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury have expressed deep shock at the death of former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.
In a message of condolence, they prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family, said a press release today.
They said that the people of Bangladesh will forever remember the contribution made by Pranab Mukherjee, a genuine friend of Bangladesh, to our great war of liberation. “India lost a patriotic politician, and Bangladesh lost an absolute friend with his demise. Pranab Mukherjee will remain immortal as a shining star among the politicians and people of the region,” the release said.
Pranab Mukherjee died at Army Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi while undergoing treatment on Monday at the age of 84.
