Light to moderate rain likely

DHAKA, Sept 1, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am today.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal, Khulna, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” said a Met office bulletin this morning.

Day temperature may fall by (2-3) degrees C and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, it said.

Country’s maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 36.2 degrees Celsius at Mongla in Khulna division and minimum temperature today 24.6degrees Celsius at Chuadanga in Khulna. The maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded 55 millimeters (mm) at Sylhet in Sylhet division.

The sun sets at 6.16pm today and rises at 5.41 am tomorrow in the capital.
