Govt working to establish Bangabandhu’s ‘Sonar Bangla’: Palak

NATORE, Aug 31, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT), division Junaid Ahmed Palak today said the present government is working for the welfare of the people by building a technology-based digital Bangladesh to fulfill the dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

He made the comments while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion and DOA mahfil organised by the local unit of Awami League on the occasion of the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Rahmat Iqbal Honors College ground in Singra upazila here.

Terming Bangabandhu as the great architect of independence, Palak said, “He not only brought independence but also worked tirelessly to build the country. He declared war against corruption and worked for the welfare of the exploited people with the goal of building a prosperous ‘Sonar Bangla’.”

“Bangabandhu emerged as an influential leader in world politics but domestic and international conspiracies killed him and his family with an aim to stop Bangabandhu from reaching his goals and the progress of a newly independent country,” Palak added.

The state minister said that the present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to achieve a non-discriminatory economic prosperity by embracing Bangabandhu’s ideals and establishing a modern version of Bangabandhu’s dream of ‘Sonar Bangla’ as well as Digital Bangladesh.

“Technology dependent digital Bangladesh is no longer a dream, it is a reality. We want to repay the blood debt of Bangabandhu by ensuring the development of the country and changing the destiny of people of all walks of life,” the state minister further said.

Singra Upazila Awami League President Advocate Ohidur Rahman Sheikh, Singra Municipality Mayor Jannatul Ferdous and other local Awami League leaders spoke on the occasion with Azharul Islam, president of Sukash Union Parishad AL, in the chair.
