Nandadulal makes confessional statements in connection with Sinha murder

COX’S BAZAR, Aug 31, 2020 (BSS) – Suspended assistant sub-inspector Nandadulal Rakshit, an accused in Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan murder case, made confessional statements before a Cox’s Bazar court this morning.

Judge Tamanna Farah of Senior Judicial Magistrate Court-4 in Cox’s Bazar recorded the statements under section 164 of code of criminal procedure at 10 am, according to the court sources.

Later, the court sent him to jail.

Suspended inspector Liaqat Ali, another accused in Major (retd) Sinha murder case, gave his confessional statements before the same court on Sunday.

Earlier, three other accused — Armed Police Battalion (APBn) assistant sub-inspector Shahjahan, constables Sajib and Md Abdullah — gave their confessional statements in the case.

Major (retd) Sinha was killed in police firing at Baharchhara police check-post on July 31.

Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, elder sister of Sinha, filed the case at Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on August 5.
