Book on Bangabandhu unveiled in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Aug 31, 2020 (BSS) – A 320-page book on ‘Uttarbonge Bangabandhu (Bangabandhu in North Bengal)’ has been unveiled here today with a call for publishing more books on the life and works of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for well being of the nation.

Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has published the book written by its Education Officer Anarul Haque Ana.

Hosted by the city corporation the unveiling ceremony was held at its convention hall with participation of RCC councilors and officials, professional leaders, academics and journalists.

With Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton in the chair, the ceremony was addressed by its Chief Executive Officer Dr Sharif Uddin, Chairman of Rajshahi Education Board Prof Mokbul Hossain and writer of the book Anarul Haque.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Liton said the city corporation has been working for projecting the life and works of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman before the nation.

He urged the members of the new generation particularly the students to know the life and works of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to become patriotic and Bengali nationalistic.

“The new generation must follow the ideals of Bangabandhu for becoming the patriotic citizens of the country,” the mayor said, adding that they should also listen to the speeches of Bangabandhu meticulously.

Bangladesh emerged as an independent country in 1971 under the dynamic and farsighted leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Liton said.

“Apart from a few anti-liberation thugs, the whole nation under the leadership of Bangabandhu fought and brought independence of the country and that’s why the Bangalee nation accepted him as an unprecedented leader decorating him with the honor of Bangabandhu,” he said.

Recalling the immense contribution of Bangabandhu to the independence of Bangladesh, Liton said the name of Bangabandhu will remain alive as long as Bangladesh exists.

He also said fugitive convicts killers of Bangabandhu and his family members will not go unpunished.
