Light to moderate rain likely over country
DHAKA, Aug 31, 2020 (BSS) – Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Barishal and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, a met office release said today.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak over North Bay.
Country’s maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded by 35.6 degree celsius jointly at Mongla and Jashore. The lowest temperature today was recorded by 24.3 degree celsius at Teknaf.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded by 22millimeters (mm) at Chattogram.
