RAB arrests banned militant outfit AAI activist
DHAKA, Aug 30, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)
today arrested a suspected activist of the banned militant outfit Ansar Al
Islam (AAI) from the city’s Kalayanpur Bus Stand area.
According to the RAB, the arrested person was identified as Shamsul
Alam, 26, a close accomplice of Ansar Al Islam’s, ameer of Habiganj district
unit, said ASP of RAB-4 Md Zeaur Rahman Chowdhury.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in the area and
nabbed him and recovered fundamental ideology related books, leaflets and a
mobile phone set from him.
