Light to moderate rain likely

DHAKA, Aug 30, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am today.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Barishal and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country in 24 hours till 9 am tomorrow,” said a met office bulletin this morning.

Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, it said.

Country’s maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 35.6 degrees Celsius at Jashore in Khulna division and minimum temperature today 24.5 degrees Celsius at Teknaf in Chattogram.

The maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded 34 millimeters (mm) at Netrokona in Mymensingh.

The sun sets at 6.18 pm today and rises at 5.40 am tomorrow in the capital.
