DHAKA, Aug 29, 2020 (BSS) – Different ministers and state ministers
today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of noted journalist
and litterateur Rahat Khan.
In separate condolence messages, Planning Minister MA Mannan, Fisheries and
Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi,
Agriculture Minister Dr Muhammad Abdur Razzaque, Land Minister Saifuzzaman
Chowdhury, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) Minister Md Tajul Islam,
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Posts and
Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar, Industries Minister Nurul Majid
Mahmud Humayun, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran
Ahmad and Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin , State Minister
for Information Dr Md Murad Hassan, State Minister for Women and Children
Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira and State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM
Khalid condoled the death of Ekushey award winning journalist Rahat Khan.
They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep
sympathy to the bereaved family.
Besides, Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman and deputy leader of the opposition in
the Parliament GM Quader also expressed grief and prayed for eternal peace of
the departed soul.
Rahat Khan breathed his last on Friday night at his Eskaton Garden
residence in the capital due to old-age complications at the age of 79.
