88 tested positive for COVID-19 in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, Aug 29, 2020 (BSS)- A total of 88 people were detected
positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours after testing 856 samples at
six COVID-19 laboratories in the district.
A total of 272 patients died till today due to coronavirus only in
Chattogram district with today’s two deaths.
Among the newly detected patients, 69 are from Chattogram city and 19 from
different upazilas of the district, the hospital sources said.
The total number of infected patients now stands at 16,954 in Chattogram
district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS today.
Among the total coronavirus infected persons, 12,047 are the residents of
the port city and the rest 4,907 are inhabitants of different upazilas of the
district, he added.
The total number of recovered patients from coronavirus rose to 4,448 with
the healing of 90 more people in the last 24 hours among 16,954 infected
persons in the district till 2pm today.
“Among the total 16,954 coronavirus infected persons, 4,997 are undergoing
treatment at isolation units of different hospitals in the port city as 4,448
have recovered and 272 died while the rest 7,237 are undergoing treatment in
isolation at their respective homes in the city and district,” the health
official added.
