DHAKA, Aug. 28 2020 (BSS)- State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell MP on Thursday said the only dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman likely to build a happy and prosperous golden Bangladesh.
He was speaking while presiding over the discussion and doa mahfil on the occasion of National Mourning Day, organised by Sheikh Hasina Youth Development Institute in Savar. Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim was the chief guest in the discussion while State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Mohammad Enamur Rahman was present as the special guest.
His dream was to establish exploitation and deprivation free suitable independent Bangladesh and the young generation needs to move forward with this philosophy and ideal of Bangabandhu, Russell said.
Russell said Bangabandhu spent most of his life in prison. After his autobiography we come to know that his thoughts were youth-centered. The sadness, misery and passion of the common people later started the freedom movement in his mind. Bangabandhu understood that in order to get independence, one should not remain silent, everyone should be awakened and they should be encouraged with the spirit of independence.
The State Minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina devoted herself to the task of building the country through active efforts and everyone will have to help her in this task.
Youth and Sports Secretary Mohammad Akhter Hossain and high ups of the ministry were also present in the discussion meeting.
