RAJSHAHI, Aug 28, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an alleged member of the outlawed Ansar Al Islam from a village in the district last night, RAB sources said today.
The arrested was identified as Ismail Hossain, 24, son of Golam Mostofa of Polashpur village under Matiranga Police Station in Khagrachari district.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in Raghunathpur area under Puthiya upazila and arrested Ismail around 10.30 pm.
The RAB team also seized some controversial books and leaflets from his possession, the sources added.
A case was filed with the concerned police station in this connection and the arrested person along with the seized goods were handed over to the police today.
