Road mishap claims 6 lives in north India
NEW DELHI, Aug 26, 2020 (BSS/XINHUA) – At least six persons died and 12 injured when two buses collided head on in India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday morning, confirmed a local cop to Xinhua over phone.
The two buses belonging to Uttar Pradesh’s state transport department collided on the Lucknow-Hardoi road.
Among the dead was the driver of one of the buses. The injured were admitted to a nearby government hospital.
State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the mishap, and directed the local officials to ensure proper treatment of the injured.
The two buses were coming from opposite directions in high speed when they rammed into each other. While one bus was coming to state capital Lucknow from Hardoi town, the other was moving in the opposite direction.
