JU VC mourns death of Bir Uttam CR Dutta
SAVAR, Aug 25, 2020 (BSS) – Jahangirnagar University Vice
Chancellor Professor Dr. Farzana Islam today expressed deep shock and
sorrow at the death of Chitta Ranjan Dutta, Bir Uttam, widely known as
CR Dutta, who served as a sector commander during the country’s great
Liberation War.
In a condolence message, the VC said that the nation will remember
him forever for his unique contribution to the great Liberation War.
Dr Farzana also prayed for salvation of the departed soul and
conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
The veteran freedom fighter, who was also the president of
Bangladesh Hindu Buddha Christian Oikya Parishad, breathed his last at
9.30 this morning at a hospital in Florida, USA at the age of 93.
