DHAKA, Aug 25, 2020 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of one of the sector commanders during the Liberation War Major Gen (Rtd) Chitta Ranjan Dutta popularly known as CR Dutta, Bir Uttam.
In a condolence message, the minister said, “The brave role and outstanding contribution of CR Dutta to the country’s War of Liberation will ever be remembered.”
CR Dutta played a pivotal role as the founder director general of BGB and chairman of Muktijoddha Kollyan Trust, said Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary.
The minister prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
The veteran freedom fighter breathed his last in a hospital at Florida in the USA at the age of 93 this morning.
