Gopalganj BPC’s motel to be extended: Mahbub

DHAKA, Aug 24, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Civil Aviation and
Tourism Md Mahbub Ali today said Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation’s
(BPC’s) motel in Gopalganj district will be extended and renovated to
facilitate local and foreign tourists during their visit to Father of
the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s mazar at Tungipara.

“It is our duty to create an ambient condition for the tourists who
will visit Tungipara to pay their homage to the country’s founding
father,” he said.

He told an online workshop organized by the Bangladesh Tourism Board
(BTB) and tourism stakeholders of Gopalganj district aimed at
involving tourism in local development plans and creating public
awareness about tourism, sad a press release.

Terming Gopalganj as an important tourist destination of the country
as mazar of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu is there. “Tungipara is a
place of pilgrimage for Bengalis who believe in the spirit of the
great War of Liberation,” he said.

The state minister said BTB will take plan to build watch towers in
Borni Beel, Padma Beel and Shapla Beel in Gopalganj to attract more
tourists to visit the district.

BTB’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jabed Ahmed and Deputy
Commissioner, Gopalganj Shahida Sultana also spoke, among others.
