JS body suggests enhancing economic ties with Germany

DHAKA, Aug 23, 2020 (BSS) – The parliamentary standing committee on the ministry of foreign affairs today suggested further developing the economic relationship between Bangladesh and Germany.

The meeting also called for involving the German investors in the development activities of the country as well as further gearing up of economic relations between the two countries.

The 14th meeting of 11th parliament was held at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with chairman of the committee Muhammad Faruk Khan in the chair, said a press release.

The meeting also discussed the work plans of newly appointed Bangladesh ambassadors to different countries and damages of expatriate Bangladeshis due to the recent Beirut blast in Lebanon.

It also suggested organizing meetings and seminars to develop the bilateral relations between the countries.

The committee members recommended taking necessary steps to export pharmaceutical products to Central Asian countries and import thread instead of cotton.

Members of the committee minister of foreign affairs AK Abdul Momen, Nurul Islam Nahid, Golam Faruk Khandakar Prince, Md. Abdul Majid Khan, Md. Habibe Millat, Nahim Razzaq, Kazi Nabil Ahmed and Nizam Uddin Jalil (Jhon) were present, among others.

The meeting was followed by a Munajat seeking salvation of departed souls of all martyrs including Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib and their family members.
