Journalist Abdus Shahid dies of coronavirus
DHAKA, Aug 23, 2020 (BSS) – Journalist Abdus Shahid, joint chief news
editor of private television channel (NTV), died of COVID-19 (coronavirus)
while undergoing treatment at a city hospital this morning.
He was 63.
“Abdus Shahid breathed his last in capital’s Sheikh Russel Gastroliver
Institute and Hospital at 10:45 am,” said a press release of Jatiya Press
Club (JPC).
He left behind his wife, one son and a host of relatives and well-wishers
to mourn his death.
Shahid will be laid to eternal rest at his family graveyard in Kamalnagar
in Laxmipur district.
In a condolence message, Jatiya Press Club President Saiful Alam and
General Secretary Farida Yasmin, expressed their profound shock and sorrow at
his death.
They prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed
sympathy to the bereaved family members.
