Six killed in Mymensingh road accident

MYMENSINGH, Aug 22, 2020 (BSS) – Six people, including two women, were killed in a road accident near Bhaluka Degree College on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway under Bhaluka upazila of the district this morning.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhaluka Model Police Station Md Mainuddin said the accident occurred when a bus hit a private car from behind in the area around 9 am, leaving six people dead on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Hasina Begum, 30, her son Hasibul, 8, sister Nazma Begum, 25, mother-in-law Jannatee, 60, and driver Monir Hossen, 45, of Rudrapur under Ragendrapur upazila of Gazipur district and Billal Hossen, 35, of Darirampur of Trishal, he said.
Being informed, police personnel and fire fighters rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies with the help of the locals, the OC said, adding that the driver of the bus, which hit the private car, managed to flee the scene.
Quoting family members of the victims, Mainuddin said, the victims were going to Bhaluka by the private car for getting healthcare services.
A case was filed with Bhaluka Police Station in this connection.
