Grocer killed, four injured in Rajshahi road mishap

RAJSHAHI, Aug 22, 2020 (BSS) – A grocery-trader was killed and four others were injured when a human-hauler collided head-on with a speeding truck in Senbhag area on Rajshahi-Natore highway under Puthiya Upazila in the district early this morning.

Police sources said the deceased was identified as Sodananda Ghosh, 45, son of Jogendra Nath Ghosh of Salua village under Charghat Upazila.

Four persons identified as Milon Uddin, 30, Bahar Ali, 27, Joynal Abedeen, 43, and Razufa Begum, 25, were undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital with serious injuries.

Police Inspector Lutfor Rahman said the accident occurred when a Natore-bound human hauler with at least ten passengers on board collided head-on with a Rajshahi-bound truck around 6.30 am, leaving Sadananda killed on the spot and injuring five others.

Police seized both the truck and human hauler from the spot.
