GAIBANDHA, Aug 22, 2020 (BSS) – A young boy is still missing in the
Brahmaputra river, one of the mighty rivers in the country.
The victim is identified as Borhan Hossain Nishat, 21, son of Matiul Alam
of Karaibari village under Kamarjani union in Sadar upazila of the district.
Nishat was a regular student of Rangpur Polytechnic Institute.
Locals said Nishat fell into the river from a boat on Friday and goes
missing while distributing relief materials to the flood affected people of
the union.
Being informed, two divers of Fire Service and Civil Defense office Rangpur
came to Kamarjani and conducted their frantic efforts to search Nishat on
Friday and today but they could not trace the missing boy yet.
Sadar UNO Prasun Kumar Chakrabartee and Deputy Assistant Director of Fire
Service and Civil Defense Office Gaibandha Anamul Haque visited the spot
yesterday.
