Rajshahi people pay homage to August 21 grenade attack victims

RAJSHAHI, Aug 21, 2020 (BSS)- Local units of Bangladesh Awami League (AL) and its front organisations today paid rich tribute to the victims of the heinous 21st August grenade attack at an Awami League rally in 2004 in Dhaka.

To pay their respects, the leaders and workers of Rajshahi city unit of Awami League placed floral wreaths on the portraits of the victims in front of the party office this morning.

Afterwards, they also held a discussion meeting at the party office demanding exemplary punishment to all the persons involved in the dreadful grenade attack so that none can dare to commit such types of heinous crimes in future.

City unit general secretary Dablu Sarker, former senior vice-presidents Professor Shafirqur Rahman and Mahfuzul Alam, Joint-secretaries Mustaque Hossain and Rejaul Islam, organizing secretaries Advocate Aslam Sarker and Mahbubul Alam, legal secretary Advocate Musabbirul Islam and health and population affairs secretary Dr FMA Zahid spoke at the discussion.

The meeting was followed by a doa mahfil where the leaders and workers sought blessings of the almighty Allah for eternal peace of the victim’s departed souls in the carnage.
