Diplomatic efforts intensified to bring back killers of Bangabandhu: Dipu

DHAKA, Aug 20, 2020 (BSS) – Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni today said killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman must be brought to justice on this soil as diplomatic efforts have been further intensified to bring back the fugitive killers.

“Court verdicts of several self- acknowledged killers of Bangabandhu have already been executed. Efforts are being continued to bring back the convicted killers who remain fugitive aboard to execute their capital punishment,” she said.

The minister was addressing a discussion arranged by her ministry marking the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu and National Mourning Day at International Mother Language Institute here.

Dipu said the August 15 carnage is the most brutal killings in the history of mankind as child, woman and even expecting mother did not get escaped the deaths in the massacre.

Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee Chief Coordinator Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Higher Education Division Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain and Technical and Madrasah Education Division Secretary Md Aminul Islam Khan addressed it, among others.
National University Vice-Chancellor Prof Harun-or-Rashid presented a keynote paper on the occasion.
