Absconded convict arrested in C’nawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Aug 20, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an absconded convict of a drugs case from Dhaka bus stand area in district town this afternoon.
The arrested person is Md Shafiqul Islam, 50, son of Nawshad Ali of Shantimore Mridhapara in Sadar upazila.
On a tip-off, a team of RAB-5 conducted a raid in the area at around 5 pm and arrested him.
Shafiqul was awarded two years rigorous imprisonment and was fined of Taka 5,000 in a drugs case by the court on August 16, 2020.
