DHAKA, Aug 19, 2020 (BSS)—Former national cricketer Mosahraff Hossain Rubel’s father Mohiuddin Khondokar breathed his last on Tuesday night after being infected by coronavirus. He was 75.

Mohiuddin was admitted at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka from August 3 and was receiving treatment for coronavirus.

Mosharraf, a left-arm spinner who played five ODIs for Bangladesh also had tested positive for the virus but had recovered successfully.

The 38-year-old spinner earlier was diagnosed with brain tumour last year and got cured after four months of intense treatment in Singapore.

Mosharraf Rubel though has no place in the national team, he remains a regular face in domestic circuit.

He made his national team debut in 2008 but was dropped following poor form. He later came back to the national team again after eight years but couldn’t just cement his place.

After surviving from brain tumour, he was gearing for domestic league return.
