Two cousins drown in Manikganj
MANIKGANJ, Aug 18, 2020 (BSS) – Two infant cousins drowned in Rupsha area under Shibalaya upazila of the district.
They are identified as Ratul, 6, son of Baher Ali and Swadhin, 4,
son of Akher Ali of Nilgram village under the upazila.
Quoting family of the victims, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of
Shibalaya Thana Md Firoj Kobir said the incident occurred in the evening on Monday when Swadhin and Rahul fell into a ditch adjacent to their house as they were playing on the yard beside the waterbody.
Locals recovered their bodies after about an hour’s frantic efforts and rushed them to Uthuli Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctors declared them dead.
On the request of the families, the bodies were handed over to their relatives without post-mortem, the OC added.
