DHAKA, June 29, 2018 (BSS) – Belgium became group G champions when they defeated England by 1-0 goal in the FIFA World Cup 2018 held on early hour on Friday at Kaliningrad Stadium in Russia.
After a barren first half, Januzaj broke the stalemate for Belgium as he saw his curling shot in the 51st minutes of the proceedings beat English goalkeeper Pickford (1-0).
With this victory, Belgium became Group H champions with three wins collecting full nine points while England who gave rest to their eight regulars players finished as group G runners-up with six points from three outings.
In another Group G match at Mordovia Arena, Tunisia beat Panama by 2-1 goals to finish at the third position in their group G with three points while Panama failed to collect any points from three outings and were placed at the bottom of the table. Both teams, coming into this match were already eliminated.
Belgium will face Japan while England will face Colombia in the round of 16.
