15,000 youths of Narsingdi become self-reliant in BSCIC training

NARSINGDI, Aug 18, 2020 (BSS)- Around 15,000 youths (both male and female) in the district became self-reliant after receiving training and loan from Skill Development Center of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) in the last 40 years.

Assistant General Manager (AGM) of BSCIC Mohammad Shazzad Hossain told BSS that the BSCIC run Skill Development Center has so far imparted institutional training to 15,517 youths since its inception in 1980.

The training course includes fitting cum machine shop practices, welding, electrical house wiring, motor welding ,repairing of electrical goods , cutting, sewing training course, ,block-boutique, refrigeration and air condition repairing, mobile phone repairing and computer course.

The AGM said BSCIC also provided easy term loan among the trained youths on different income generating projects.

He said about 15,000 youths (both male and female) in the six upazilas of Narsingdi district are now self-reliant by undertaking different projects and extending services home and abroad.
