Indonesia reports 1,673 newly-confirmed COVID-19 cases, 70 new deaths
JAKARTA, Aug 18, 2020 (BSS/XINHUA) – The COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose
by 1,673 within one day to 143,043, with the death toll adding by 70 to
6,277, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
According to the ministry, 1,848 more people were discharged from
hospitals, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 96,306.
The virus has spread to all the country’s 34 provinces.
Within the past 24 hours, Jakarta recorded 513 new cases, East Java 312,
North Sumatra 130, Central Java 118 and East Kalimantan 93.
No more new positive cases were found in six provinces, namely Jambi, Riau
Islands, Lampung, North Kalimantan, East Nusa Tenggara and Papua.
