Police arrest 4 with 6,900 yaba tablets in city
DHAKA, Aug 18, 2020 (BSS) – Detective police claimed to have arrested four alleged drug dealers with 6,900 pieces of Yaba tablets conducting a raid in Bangshal area of the capital on Monday.
The arrestees’ are – Lal Mia, 29, Md Zakir Hossain, 35, Md Ismail, 58 and Md Mahbub Alam, 26, said a DMP press release today.
Police officials familiar with the drive said a team of Lalbagh Division’s detective branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police led by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Md Saifur Rahman Azad searched a ‘Shyamoli Paribahan’ bus came from Cox’s Bazar in front of Dhaka Metropolitan General Hospital in Bangshal and arrested them with yaba tablets.
During the primary interrogation, the detainees confessed to carrying yaba tablets from Cox’s Bazar to various places in the capital, a DMP media release said.
A case has been filed against them with Bangshal police station under the Narcotics Control Act, added the release.
