CUMILLA, Aug 18, 2020, (BSS) – Mobile courts fined individuals taka 41,800 on various charges including violating hygiene rules and realizing extra fare from passengers in public transport amid coronavirus pandemic here on Monday.
Cumilla district administration sources said the mobile courts were operated in Mahanagari, Alekharchar, Paduar Bazar, Jangalia and Cantonment bus stand areas at the initiative of district administration.
They said the mobile courts were conducted to have a look at whether the hygiene rules are being maintained in public transport, the bus authorities are charging passengers extra fare for limited distance and the pedestrians and shopkeepers are wearing masks in corona situation.
Executive Magistrate of the district administration Md Abu Bakar Sarkar told BSS that the district administration with the assistance of district Ansar members would continue such mobile courts to compel people to follow hygiene rules for preventing corona infection and crimes against public interest.
