CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Aug 18, 2020 (BSS) – Twenty two more persons were tested positive for COVID-19 raising the total number to 618 in the district.
Of the newly detected patients, 12 patients are from Chapainawabganj sadar upazila, five from Shibganj upazila, one from Gomostapur upazila and four from Bholahat upazila.
Chapainawabganj Civil Surgeon office received the results of 86 samples last night from the Virology Department of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, Civil Surgeon (CS) of Chapainawabganj Dr. Jahid Nazrul Chowdhury said.
A total of 10 persons have, so far, died of COVID-19, he added.
He further added that 17 patients are now undergoing treatment in Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital.
According to the CS office sources, a total of 618 persons were detected as positive for COVID-19. Of them, 333 corona-positive persons are from sadar upazila, 147 from Shibganj upazila, 53 from Gomostapur upazila, 47 from Nachole upazila and 38 from Bholahat upazila.
The sources added that a total of 398 patients have so far recovered from the disease in the district and of them, 214 are from sadar upazila, 67 from Shibganj upazila, 52 from Gomostapur upazila, 36 from Nachole upazila and 29 from Bholahat upazila.
