DHAKA, Aug 16, 2020 (BSS) – Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said sequential plotters of August 15 carnage are still containing their evil attempts as the extreme communal forces do not accept the country’s prevailing peace, progress and prosperity.

“Evil forces are still active to hatch conspiracy against development. The extreme radical forces are finding chances as they do not want peace and prosperity,” he said.

Quader, also minister for road transport and bridges, was delivering the welcome address at a discussion marking the National Mourning Day and 45th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the party’s central Bangabandhu Avenue office here.

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina presided over the discussion through videoconferencing from her official Ganabhaban residence.

The Al general secretary said the evil forces are suffering from jealousy as the country is marching towards progress under the dynamic leadership of the premier.

The clique is active in making their evil designs to bring back the country in Pakistani ideology having a soil of bloody conflicts, he added.

Quader expressed his optimism that the country must go ahead overcoming all sorts of hurdles and conspiracies as long as Sheikh Hasina remains in power.

“We will remain active against all conspiracies and make united efforts to further strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he said.

The minister said there will be no room for conspirators and evil forces in that sacred soil of Bangladesh as its journey towards progress and prosperity will continue at an indomitable speed capitalising on love and support of the common people.

Quader said now BNP is out to talk about repression and brutality, do they want to forget everything?

“Even if they forget, the nation will never forget. So, I would like to say you should see your own faces in mirror, you will find nothing but shameful history or distorted look in your faces,” he said pointing to BNP leaders.

The AL general secretary said BNP is now talking about corruption, but the irony is that both the words BNP and corruption are now tantamount.

When BNP was in power, he said, the country became world champions in corruption for five times as they gave an institutional shape to corruption.

Talking about corruption does not go with BNP as it looks like ‘the devil listening to the scriptures’, he added.
