Indonesia reports 2,081 newly-confirmed COVID-19 cases, 79 new deaths
JAKARTA, Aug 16, 2020 (BSS/XINHUA) – COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose by 2,081 within one day to 139,549, with the death toll adding by 79 to 6,150, the Health Ministry said on Sunday.
According to the ministry, 1,782 more people were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 93,103.
The virus has spread to all the country’s 34 provinces.
Specifically, within the past 24 hours, Jakarta recorded 518 new cases, East Java 488, Central Java 168, South Sulawesi 156 and South Kalimantan 100.
No more new positive cases were found in five provinces, namely Jambi, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Nusa Tenggara and Central Sulawesi.
