Momen pays homage to Bangabandhu on National Mourning Day
DHAKA, Aug 15, 2020 (BSS)-On the occasion of the 45th martyrdom anniversary of
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning
Day, Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen today paid homage to the architect of
independent Bangladesh by placing a wreath at the portrait of the Father of the
Nation at Bangabandhu Corner at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here.
Earlier, he hoisted the national flag half-mast atop the Foreign Service Academy
and paid homage to Bangabandhu, a press release said.
Besides, prayers were offered at the mosque of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
seeking the eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and all including
his family members who were killed on August 15, 1975.
State minister for foreign affairs Md Shahriar Alam and foreign secretary Masud
Bin Momen were present on the occasion.
