GOPALGANJ, Aug 15, 2020 (BSS) – Rich tributes were paid on behalf of Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman marking the National Mourning Day and the 45th anniversary of his
martyrdom.

Prime Minister’s Military Secretary Major General Nakib Ahmad Chowdhury
placed floral wreaths on the mausoleum of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,
who could not visit the place this year due to COVID-19 pandemic.

A smartly turned out contingent of Bangladesh Armed Forces gave salute at
that time, while bugle played tune of grief and somber to the last post.

Munajat was also offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of the
August 15 carnage.

Awami League leaders led by party’s presidium member Muhammad Faruque Khan,
MP, placed wreaths on the mausoleum of Bangabandhu on behalf of the central
Awami League. AL presidium members Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Abdur Rahman, joint

Two daughters of Bangabandhu Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her sister
Sheikh Rehana could escape the carnage as they were staying abroad at that
time.
