Environment ministry’s programmes on National Mourning Day

DHAKA, Aug 13, 2020 (BSS) – The Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ministry and its subordinate offices have chalked out programmes in line with the national programmes to observe the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day.

As part of the programmes, the national flag will be hoisted half-mast atop the buildings of the ministry and its subordinate offices across the country on August 15.

A delegation of the ministry’s senior officials and chiefs of its subordinate entities, wearing the black badge, will place floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in the city at 10 am on the day.

Other programmes on the day include holding a discussion at the Department of Environment (DOE) auditorium at 12noon maintaining the social distancing and milad mahfil after Zohr’s prayers there.

All offices of the ministry will exhibit environment friendly banners or dropdowns to mark the National Mourning Day.

Besides, field level offices of the ministry will join the mourning day programmes organized by local administrations.
