Two children drown in pond in Noakhali
NOAKHALI, Aug 12, 2020 (BSS) – Two children drowned in a pond near Tara Khan’s house at Sundalpur area under Chatkhil upazila in Noakhali district this afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Majed, 6, and his cousin Humaira Akhter, 4.
Chatkhil Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anwarul Islam said they were playing on their house premises. Afterwards, they went missing and later the locals found their bodies floating in the pond, he added.
The police personnel added that being informed police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies and as per the request of the families, the bodies were allowed to be buried without autopsy.
