Alauddin Ali laid to eternal rest at Mirpur intellectuals’ graveyard
DHAKA, Aug 10, 2020 (BSS) – Noted music director, composer and lyricist Alauddin Ali was laid to eternal rest at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard in the city this afternoon.
His body was taken to the Film Development Corporation (FDC) at Tejgaon in capital around 2:30pm where all paid glowing tributes to him.
After his second namaj-e-janaza there, the body was brought to Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard for burial.
Family sources said Ali’s body was taken to his city’s Banasree residence from BIRDEM hospital.
He was kept there for sometimes so that his Bangladesh Television (BTV) colleagues and locals could have last glimpse at him.
Then the body was taken to his ancestral house no. 376 in Khilgaon where Ali’s wife Monowara Begum and his relatives had a look at him for the last time there.
The first namaj-e-janaza of Ali was held at Khilgaon Moor-e-Bagh Jame Mosque at 1:30pm.
Alauddin Ali, the eight-time National Film Award winner and a legendary music director, breathed his last at a city hospital on Sunday at the age of 67.
