Shipra granted bail in narcotics case
COX’S BAZAR, Aug 9, 2020 (BSS) – A Cox’s Bazar court today granted bail
to Shipra Rani Debnath, an associate of slain Major (retd) Sinha Mohammad
Rashed Khan’s team, in a narcotics case.
Cox’s Bazar Judicial Magistrate Delwar Hossain passed the order after
holding hearing on the bail plea filed for Shipra, a student of Stamford
University in Dhaka, defence counsel Arup Barua Topu told BSS.
Meanwhile, the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah held
hearing on the bail plea of Shipra’s team member Sahedul Islam Sifat, in
separate cases — one for obstructing police in performing their duties and
another narcotics.
Sifat’s lawyer Mahbubul Alam Tipu said the court set August 10 to pass
order in this regard.
