121 tested positive for COVID-19 in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, Aug 6, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 121 people were detected positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 986 samples at five COVID-19 laboratories in the district.
Among the newly detected patients, 92 are from Chattogram city and 29 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
The total number of infected patients now stands at 14,751 in Chattogram district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of the district, told BSS today.
A total of 2,628 persons were released from the hospital after recovery from COVID-19 infection till today, he said.
Among the total 14,748 coronavirus infected persons, 10,351 are the residents of the port city and the rest 4,400 are residents of different upazilas of the district.
A total of 5,003 patients are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals in the port city as 2,628 have recovered and 237 died while the rest 7,097 are undergoing treatment in isolation at their respective homes in the city and district”, he added.
